PLACED
Facts: D is a 48 year old native of Nigeria who fled his home country to escape persecution by the All Progressives Congress party. He was abducted and threatened with death and physical harm. D has also suffered from severe medical issues, undergoing surgeries for his condition. In disavowing the ruling party, D could not access adequate, lifesaving medical care, but since his arrival in the U.S. his condition has improved. D is currently living in a shelter and fears that the APC members who have been threatening him will harm him if he returns to Nigeria.
Legal assessment: D is eligible for asylum and must submit his application before April 26, 2019. He needs a dedicated pro bono attorney to help him complete his application so he can remain safe and healthy in the U.S.
D is an English-speaking client.
